Alice Best

PORTLAND — Alice Alberta Best, 94, a longtime resident of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the Barron Center.

She was born in Fryeburg, the daughter of Walter and Ida Bemis. Alice graduated from Fryeburg Academy, Class of 1938.

Alice was one of seven children and the last surviving. She was predeceased by her brothers, Glenn and Sherwood; sisters, Ethel, Marion, Beatrice and Alteen.

She is survived by her husband, Arthur Best; a son, Norman Best; as well as many adoring nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland.
