Ronald Flanagin

CASCO — Ronald E. Flanagin, 76, of Casco, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2024, at his home in Casco surrounded by family members.

He was born on June 5, 1948, in Lewiston, a son of Elton and Lucille (Edwards) Flanagin and graduated from Casco High School. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during Vietnam.

Ron loved the outdoors so much he got a job at the local fish hatchery. He also had the “gift of gab” that made him an excellent employee for the Baxter School for the Deaf as a security guard.

Ron worked at the local fish hatchery for a time as well as the Baxter School for the Deaf as a security guard.

He enjoyed his time outdoors hunting and fishing and took too much pride in the house he built for his family.

Ron is survived by his two children, Evon Flanagin and Dan Flanagin, both of Casco; grandchildren, Nicodemus Flanagin, Sonya and Samantha Waligora; sisters, Shirley Flanagin of N.C. and Lila Beaver of Casco; stepchildren, Louis Senecal, Amber Pingree Felts, and Brandy Felts who cared for as his own; step-grandchildren, Louis, Wyat and Lilly Senecal, Gabe Pingree Felts, Kaden and Molly Felts.

He was predeceased by a sister, Sonya Flanagin; stepson, Andrew Wilbur.

Anyone who had the opportunity to know Ron could tell you he never had a bad word for anyone, would help anyone and would always treat people right. He will also be remembered for his love of beautiful cars and beautiful women. He will be missed but never forgotten. The world was a better place with him in it.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held in the spring with the time and date to be announced. Interment will be at the Green Grove Cemetery in Casco. Arrangements are in the care of the Hall Funeral Home in Casco. www.hallfuneralhome.net.
