Gordon Miller
Gordon Miller, born August 21, 1938, died October 12, 2024, with
his wife of 64 years by his side.
Gordon moved to Tidewater, Va., at an early age. He attended Norfolk Academy, Johns Hopkins University, the University of
Baltimore School of Law and Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
After retirement, Gordon and wife Dee became residents of Bridgton having vacationed here with their family for decades. In Maine, Gordon served as a Guardian ad Litem and tutored adult learners in reading and math. He enjoyed music, playing the violin, and fishing in our area lakes with his family, as well as eating Maine oysters. He was especially grateful to enjoy the rare privilege, for a modern grandparent, to be able to enjoy the close contact with his grandson Albert, who has always been just up the street.
In his last several years, Gordon dealt with increasing vision loss with patience and grace even as his quality of life became progressively restricted. It is often said that pneumonia is the old man’s friend, and in this case it is accurate.
He is survived by his wife, Dee Miller, who is forever grateful for Gordon’s support of her own interests; sons Harrison (Yuka) of Mobile, Ala., and Evan (Karen) of Bridgton. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
The burial was private, attended by immediate family members. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service 8 Elm Street, Bridgton. To make an online condolence please visit www.chandlerfunerals.com
