Laker senior earns National Merit Academic Commended Student Award

In a remarkable achievement, Chloe Ward, a senior at Lake Region High School, has been recognized as a National Merit Scholar “Commended Student,” joining an elite group of academically exceptional students across the country.

This prestigious award highlights her dedication to academic excellence and commitment to her future endeavors.

Chloe is the daughter of Katelyn and Chad Ward of Bridgton. 

The National Merit Scholarship Program, which began in 1955, honors students who demonstrate outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT, showcasing their potential for success in higher education. With thousands of students vying for this honor each year, Chloe stood out for her exceptional scores and impressive academic record.

In addition to her academic accomplishments, Chloe is involved in various extracurricular activities, including ASTRA, the CalcuLAKERS, and the National Honor Society. These experiences have not only enriched her education but also fostered a sense of community and leadership.

As Chloe prepares for college applications, this distinction will undoubtedly open doors to numerous opportunities, including scholarships and prestigious university programs.
