Roy L. Sundgren, 93, of the Grande of South Portland, passed away peacefully at Maine Medical Center, on August 1, 2024.

Roy was predeceased by his parents Joel and Jenni (Ljungberg) Sundgren, brother William Sundgren; and nephew Gary Sundgren; beloved wife Nancy A. Sundgren; second wife Emma Jean Wilson Sundgren; and daughter Alison R. Sundgren-Schneeweis.

He is survived by his son Geoffrey L. and Rossanne (Farnese) Sundgren; four grandchildren Daniel, Justin, Ian, and Jennifer; four great-grandchildren Mia, Asher, Parker, and Finley; son-in-law Thomas Schneeweis; grand-daughter-in-law Casey, and grandson-in-law Eric

Roy was a Korean War veteran, an Upsala College grad and had a 30-plus year career at GTE Sylvania which he retired from in 1989.

An avid coach of youth baseball, referee for hockey in the town of Walpole, Mass. He loved golf, football, bridge, and telling jokes.
