Bridgton Planners rewrite of the Land Use Ordinance to meet new state guidelines regarding housing passed Tuesday by a 263 to 168 margin.

During Tuesday’s Select Board meeting, Planning Board Chair Deb Brusini made a last-minute pitch to voters to approve the ordinance amendments during the live Lake Region TV broadcast. 

By a 327 to 121 margin, voters gave the town manager authorization to submit a grant application, on behalf of the Rec Department, to seek federal financing assistance under the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act to make improvements at the Ham Athletic Complex.

Voters also approved amendments to the Mass Gathering regulations by a 271 to 154 margin.

There were no races for municipal positions. Incumbents Carmen Lone (329 votes) and Robert McHatton Sr. (322) were re-elected to three-year terms.

Incumbents Sharon Menegoni (287 votes) and Karla Swanson-Murphy (293) return to the SAD 61 School board, while Suzanne Schrader (371), who recently filled a vacancy when Richard Meek was removed due to failure to meet attendance requirements, was elected to a two-year term.

Incumbent Dan Harden (365 votes) returns to the Planning Board for a three-year term, while Catherine DiPietro, who has been serving as an alternate, was elected to a three-year term as a write-in candidate (70 votes).

Margaret Lynn received 40 votes via a write-in as a Planning Board alternate member for a three-year term.

Todd Perreault (388 votes) was elected as a Water District Trustee, a three-year term.

As for State Primary outcomes (party arranged alphabetically):

• Congress, District 1, Democrats — Chellie Pingree, 188 votes.

Green Independent, Nicholas Vigue, 1 vote.

Republicans — Ronald Russell received 124 votes and Andrew Piantidosi had 98.

• U.S. Senator, Democrats — David Costello, 151 votes.

Republican — Demi Kouzounas, 200 votes.

• State Senator, District 18, Democrats — Linda Miller, 174 votes.

Republican — Richard Bennett, 224 votes

• State Representative, District 83, Democrat — Carrye Castleman-Ross, 183 votes.

Republican — Marygrace Cimino, 216 votes.

• Register of Probate, Democrat — Susan Schwartz, 168 votes.

Republican — Jerry Lynn Dewitt, 200 votes.

• County Commissioner, Democrat — Jean-Marie Caterina 118 votes, Bruce Tarbox 43 votes.
