At the Polls — Harrison election results

HARRISON — There will be a new look to the Harrison Select Board as Debora Kane captured the most votes (333) Tuesday to unseat incumbent Fred Ross (157).

Incumbent Phil Devlin received 236 votes to earn a second three-year term. Al Fitzmorris was third in the running with 189 votes.

Voters sent a clear message of their unhappiness with the SAD 17 budget, which included a separate $2 million warrant article for deferred maintenance projects, that at the moment remains somewhat unclear where those dollars will be spent, by rejecting the budget validation Question 1 by a 481-77 margin.

In other election voting:

• Stephen Bingham, who was unopposed, won a five-year term on the Appeals Board with 423 votes.

• Jennifer Vane (390 votes) and James Dayton (363) will each serve three-year terms on the Planning Board.

• Fred Ross was a write-in candidate for the SAD 17 School Board with 28 votes. Town officials will check with Ross to see if he will accept the nomination.
