January 15, 1966 — February 23, 2024

AUBURN — William Robert Kimball Jr., 58, “ Billy” of South Waterford and Buckfield, passed away early Friday morning surrounded by his family at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

Son of William and Muriel Kimball. Educated at Waterford Memorial and Oxford Hills school district.

Billy loved to tinker — give him anything to take apart, repair and place back together again. Throughout his life he had various occupations including in his early years working alongside his broth-
er-in-law Bernard and sons on the rubbish truck in Harrison. He spent many happy hours with them.

He also worked as a carpenter with his brother-in-law, and worked with Jeff Hadley Builders until he ventured out to run his own business. Billy also enjoyed antiques and found the thrill of the hunt invigorating.

He liked living off the grid on Bear Pond Road in Buckfield. It was his pleasure to work the land as best possible, the freedom of working the earth set him free to be himself.

Bobcat and Cletus were his pets in which he loved dearly. One below 0 cold winter’s night came a scratch to the door. Billy answered and it was a tiny kitten, it was chilled almost to death. Billy nurtured it and it lived, that is his beloved Bobcat! A few years back Billy was diagnosed with colon cancer; he made the best of each day since then. He returned to his family seeking refuge, comfort, and forgiveness. We all rallied around him, showing him hope, love and strength, until the end. Linda was his guardian angel as she took him in and cared for him for the last few years of his life.

He was predeceased by his father William R. Kimball Sr. of Buckfield, and is brother Matthew Kimball.

He leaves behind his daughter Hattie Gushee Kimball Blye and her husband Richard and their two sons. His mother Muriel Kimball of Norway. Sisters Brenda Gerry and Alan of Fryeburg, Linda Kimball of Harrison, Sharon Kimball Hadley and husband Jeff of Waterford, Sue Kimball LeBlanc and husband Tom of North Norway. Brother Wade Kimball and wife Susan of Waterford. His sister-in-law Leta of South Paris.

Many special nephews and nieces and great-nephews and nieces. A close friend, Angie Walo, whom he loved dearly as his best friend.

A huge thank you to all the hospice workers and nurses, doctors and care staff that worked to provide excellent care of Billy. And a very special thank you to Paulett Tabb

A private service will be held at the family’s discretion.
