Linwood (Lin) Clifford Douglass passed away peacefully on December 31, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Moments after his passing, the sky exploded with fireworks, ushering him into heaven with the pomp and circumstance he deserved. He was 87 years young.

Born February 20, 1936, in Bridgton, Linwood grew up in the small town with his parents and three siblings. It was in Bridgton he met the love of his life, Marion (Thompson), whom he married in May of 1957. They raised three children, Bill, Jeannette and Mark.

A proud military veteran, Linwood served his country for 28 years in the Air Force, achieving the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. The Air Force brought he and his young family all over the world, being stationed in Germany, Illinois, and Hawaii, to name a few. Following his military career, he pursued a bachelor’s degree and ultimately received his master’s in Management and Human Relations.

He went on to work for the Mitre Corporation, helping to improve the NORAD warning system and other security sensitive projects. They called Billerica, Mass., home until 1997 when they retired to Las Vegas.

Linwood fully enjoyed retired life... spending his days on the golf course, bowling alley, and trying to bluff his friends at weekly poker games. At home, he loved nothing more than to relax on his recliner with a good book or an old western on the television, his adoring dog Lily by his side.

Linwood was strong-willed and stubborn, traits he proudly passed on to his children and grandchildren. He also had an enormous heart, donating his time to charities and nonprofit organizations throughout his life. He was generous, loyal and brave; always the first to thank a fellow veteran for their service.

Linwood was predeceased by his mother Bernice, dad Lincoln, father Stanley, brother Gilbert, sisters Jeanette and Sharon and his daughter Jeannette.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Marion, sons Bill and Mark, daughters-in-law Jackie and Laura as well as nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Victoria, Bryan, Michael, Daniel, Jennifer, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth and Jillian. He also adored his thirteen great-grandchildren, Quintyn, Tennyson, Zora, Korra, Lincoln, Bronson, Whitney, Faye, Carlos, Liam, Eden, Saxon and Fletcher.

He will be remembered for all the love and support he never failed to show family and friends. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength and full of love for those who went before him. He will be missed dearly.

Services will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Boulder City located at 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005 on Thursday, January 11 at 8:40 a.m.
