Robert Caron Sr.
Robert Caron Sr., passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the age of 80.
He was born in Waterbury, Conn., to Denis Caron and Marie Paul Brousseau, moved to Litchfield, Maine, as a young child, and attended Litchfield school district until they merged with Monmouth. He graduated from Monmouth Academy in 1961 and Southern Maine Vocational Institute in 1963. He met his loving wife Carmen of 59 years when they both were at Monmouth Academy, and they were married on April 4, 1964. After living in a few different towns while he was employed as an electrician, they moved to Naples in 1971 to raise their family. He started his own company in 1977, New England Electric & Electronics, Inc./C&R Caron, until retiring and closing his business in 2015.
While living in Naples, Bob served as a selectman and on various town committees for over 35 years as he enjoyed giving his time back to the community. He also served on the Naples Public Library Board of Trustees and the Naples Golf Course Board of Directors. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved the time he spent at his camp in Harmony, where family and friends gathered to look for the elusive white tail deer or to just have some time alone to enjoy the peacefulness of the surroundings.
He is survived by his loving wife Carmen, two children, Veronica Caron and her partner John Siepmann, and Robert Caron II and his wife Marie, and his four grandchildren, Logan Wilbur, Taylor Wilbur, Bobby Caron III, and Rebecca Caron, his brother Richard Caron and wife Rosalie, along with their sister Linda Harps and her husband Rheal, and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023 at the Hall Funeral Home in Casco. Donations can be made in Bob’s memory to the Naples Public Library, PO Box 1717, Naples, ME 04055. Condolences and tributes may be shared at www.hallfuneralhome.net.
