SEBAGO — David L. Brown “Papa” of Sebago, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at the age of 84. After a period of failing health, Papa died peacefully with his beloved wife Josephine and family by his side.

He was born in Limington, on March 25, 1939, at the Oasis, son of the late Robert and Bessie Brown.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Josephine Lord Brown, his two daughters Pamela and husband Robert Kimbrough, Deborah and husband Charles Mullins, two sons, David and wife Liz, James and wife Dawn. He is also survived by his brother Clayton Brown, fifteen grandchildren, 27 great-grand- children, several nieces, nephews and extended family.

David was predeceased by his parents, brother Kendall and daughter Lori Vacchiano.

After graduating from Potter Academy in 1958, David joined and served twenty years in the Air Force. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Throughout his life, David was involved in sports both as a player and a coach. At the age of twelve, he won Portland, Maine’s first MVP award in Little League. He had several interests but loved spending time at the casino, singing and telling stories and giving words of wisdom to anyone who listened! David was charismatic and known to everyone as Papa.
