Elizabeth Van Dyk

Elizabeth Van Dyk, 90, of Ellsworth, passed away on July 15, 2023, at the Woodlands Memory Care in Bridgton.

Born to Frank Van Dyk and Radia Tilstra Van Dyk, January 31, 1933, in Hawthorne, N.J.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents and sisters, Kathleen Sikkema, Mildred Wood, and grandson Brett Thibodeau.

She is survived by her children, Philip Davis of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Brenda Thibodeau of Fryeburg, and Craig Davis of Palma, Spain, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Beth, an accomplished musician, was an organist and choir director at several churches on Mt. Desert Island and most recently the First Congregational Church UCC in Ellsworth. She orchestrated and performed many Gilbert and Sullivan musicals over the years. She also was a member of The Surry Opera Company and traveled to the Soviet Union to perform concerts by invitation to promote peace through music. Her singing and love of music was enjoyed by many throughout her lifetime. It was her gift to all of us who knew her.
