Sharon Plummer

Sharon Louise (Dingley) Plummer, 75, of South Casco, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 29, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family following a recent illness.

Sharon was born October 28, 1946, to Fred and Madeline (Watkins) Dingley. She attended Casco schools, graduating from Casco High School in 1964. She graduated from Fisher College in 1966 in Boston where she earned her Associates Degree as a Legal Secretary. She married Cole in April of 1967 and remained a devoted wife until his death in 2015.

Sharon was active in many community activities including the Casco Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary, dispatched for Casco Fire Rescue from home, and worked alongside Cole in the Casco Days Bonus Prize booth for many years. Sharon was active in Cub Scouts as a den mother, Boy Scouts, and kept score for baseball teams her husband, Cole, coached. Sharon was also involved during the 80s by volunteering with a citizen organization to stop the DOE from establishing a nuclear waste dump in the Lake Region area.

Her hobbies included cross-stitching, macrame, quilting and talking on the phone...for hours. Sharon spent a considerable amount of time tracing her and Cole’s family lineage through multiple ancestral lines as a legacy to pass down to future generations.

After Cole retired, he and Sharon enjoyed traveling the country attending numerous NASCAR races from New Hampshire to Las Vegas and parts in between. She also enjoyed spending winters in Florida for many years, sipping on her Early Times Whiskey. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and recently, great-grandmother.

Sharon is survived by her two children, Gretchen and Greg, along with two grandsons Ryan and Shaun, and great-grandson Cole.

True to her sense of humor, when asked if she had a message for her beloved friends, she simply stated, “Don’t cry for me Argentina.”

There will be no funeral but instead, a party, per Sharon’s wishes. Date to be determined.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Hall Funeral Home in Casco where tributes may be shared at www.hallfuneralhome.net.
