Robyn E. Guthrie

Robyn Guthrie

Robyn Elizabeth Guthrie, 62, of Bridgton, passed away on April 16, 2022 after a two year battle with cancer.

The daughter of David Guthrie and Shirley Ruth Scott Guthrie, Robyn was born in Methuen, Mass., on September 4, 1959, the youngest of six. Robyn attended school in
Methuen until her sophomore year when her family decided to move full-time to their summer cottage on Moose Pond, and graduated from Lake Region High School in
1977 before attending Castle College in Windham, N.H. She was multitalented, working as a shoe-maker, waitress/hostess, teacher, realtor, bartender, ski instructor,
Mary Kay saleswoman, and eventually opening a thrift shop, Robyn’s Nest, on Main Street to share her love of secondhand shopping, while in her free time she loved gardening and creating floral arrangements, sewing, quilting, jewelry making, snow and water skiing, swimming and tanning at the lake, and singing along with her favorite niece, Jessica, to Rickie Lee Jones, Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Counting Crows, Rusted Root and more... but her one true love was being Grammy to Adia Nina, Mia Imani, Amirah Maryam and Jibril Abdur Raheem, while homesteading at her beloved “house on the hill” given to her by her children.

Robyn is predeceased by her parents, and brothers Larry and David.

She is survived by her son, Dawud Guthrie Abdur Raheem, daughter, Allison Ruth Adams, her four grandchildren, sister and two brothers, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, and her husband Thomas Hagan.
