Mary G. Wyman, 89
Mary G. (Chick) (Edson) Wyman, 89, of North Berwick, went to be with her Lord and Savior, peacefully November 1, 2021, with her son by her side.
She Was Born December 10, 1931, in Casco, the daughter of Floyd and Ruth (Chute) Chick and a 1950 graduate of Casco High School. She married George Edson in 1950, raising their three children in Casco. Mary was a wonderful homemaker and talented seamstress. She and George were members of the Spur’s Corner Church, in Otis- field where she was a pianist.
After the death of her husband George in 1987, Mary met her second husband, Donald Wyman in 1988, relocating to North Ber- wick. Mary was a member of the Bethel Christian Church in North Berwick for 30 years where she also played the piano.
Mary was a true and dignified lady who loved her family and her church. She enjoyed her flower gardens and appreciated a good book. She and Don loved their camping trips to Naples and fall trips to Dolly Copp Campground in the White Mountains. Mary loved traveling, scenic drives, and she could give directions to just about anywhere.
In 2019, she moved to Ashton Gardens Senior Living in Portland where she made many wonderful friends, including Robert Gale, the special gentleman that lived next door.
She was predeceased by her first husband, George Edson in 1987; stepdaughter, Donna (Wyman) Stewart in 1992; sister, Margaret Oakes in 2018; her second husband Donald L. Wyman in 2018, her son, Richard Edson in 2021.
Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Leighton and her husband Gary of Williamsburg, Va.; and her son, Robert Edson and wife Pamela of Gray; her brother, Daniel Chick and wife Patty of Gray; daughter-in-law Roberta Edson of Bradenton, Fla.; 10 grandchildren, Jerred, Kerrie, Daniel, Cressi, Kate, Matthew, Andrew, Rachel, David, and Amy; 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Wyman, Charles and Carol Kezar, Sherry Johnson all of North Berwick, and Kenneth Wyman of Wells.
The family is especially grateful to Bethilda Knudsen of Westbrook, for her kindness and support. She and Mary loved each other like sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 6 at 11 a.m., at the Bethel Christian Church, 129 Lower Main Street, North Berwick. Private burial will be Monday in the Tenney Hill Cemetery in Casco.
