AUBURN — Robert Weston “Bob” Calileo, 87, of Naples, died Sunday morning, Sept. 19, 2021, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn.

He was born on June 3, 1934, in Somerville, Mass., a son of Virgilio and Helen (Weston) Calileo and attended local schools.

On May 16, 1954, he married Carolyn “Carrie” Melendy of Billerica, Mass., whom he had met at Nuttings Lake where he had a cottage that his father built.

Bob and Carrie raised their family in Burlington, Mass., where he worked for many years at MIT’s Nuclear Science Lab as the logistics manager.

He retired to the lake house on Sebago Lake in Naples that he personally built with his own hands.

He was very involved with the Sebago Harbor Association over the years that he lived in Naples and held multiple positions within the association also including countless hours working on the road and water systems.

Bob enjoyed his ATV, fishing, hunting and was an avid snow- mobiler. He was an active member and past trail master of the Muddy River SnoSeekers in Naples dating back to 1995, enjoy- ing many years of local trail maintenance and other duties.

He will also be remembered for his tremendous mechanical abilities and helping to keep all of his family, friends, and neigh- bors’ equipment running.

He is loved and survived by his wife, Carrie of Naples; children, Robert Calileo Jr. of Naples, Brian Calileo and his partner, Maureen Quinn of Naples, and Linda Olivieri and her husband John, of Chester, N.H.; a brother, Daniel Calileo and his wife Grace of Amherst, N.H.; three grandchildren, Bobby, Anthony, and Ben; great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Helen Chase and her husband, John.

A memorial service for Bob was celebrated Oct. 2, 2021, at the Casco Village Church, UCC, 941 Meadow Road in Casco. Gifts may be given in his memory to a charity of your own choice.
