Covid concerns cancels Fall Foliage race

WATERFORD — Due to current spikes in Covid-19 cases, the 2021 Waterford Fall Foliage Road Race, Walk, Fun Run, and Chili Cook-Off have been canceled, reported Co-Race Director Martha Eaton.

“We will return with a renewed energy in 2022,” Eaton said. “The primary focus of the Waterford 5K Race Committee is always ‘Safety First.’ A great deal of planning goes into race day, so we waited until now to make the hard decision.”

Eaton says the committee will remain committed to giving out scholarships to all Waterford high school graduates who apply.

“We are grateful for all our loyal sponsors and friends. Your donations have helped make so many dreams possible,” she said. “This year, any and all contributions to the Tony Waldeier Scholarship fund will be greatly appreciated. We thank each and every one of our runners, volunteers, sponsors, spectators, family, friends, and especially committee members who have ever helped to make this event possible. We will be back next year!”
