John A. Bacon, 71
NAPLES — John A. Bacon, 71, died suddenly August 31, 2021, after a long illness with heart disease.
John was born April 8, 1950, the first child of the late Malcolm A. Bacon and Rachel Howard Bacon in Bridgton, Maine. John graduated from Bridgton High School in 1968 and then earned an Associate Degree in Electrical
Engineering from the University of Maine. His work years included Fairchild Semiconductor, Data General, Swift Long Distance Trucking and Land Air Express.
John enjoyed playing baseball in high school and afterwards. John was an avid reader and was gifted in Mathematics. He also enjoyed hiking and hunting deer with family members. Family gatherings were always fun for him, as he was very social and enjoyed talking with each person.
John is survived by his mother, Rachel and siblings Malcolm (Irma), Mary (husband Arthur Reed), Patricia (husband Jack Sharkey) and Justin (wife Jackie), also cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., on Saturday, September 11, at the Naples Village Cemetery with Pastor Seth Fortier of The Naples United Methodist Church officiating.
