OTISFIELD — Douglas L. Brackett Sr., 70, passed away at home surrounded by his family on August 18, 2021.

He was born in Norway on February 6, 1951, to Albert H. and Hilda J. Brackett.

Doug was a lifelong mechanic and an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing.

The greatest love of his life were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Doug is survived by his wife of 45 years, Donna Brackett; six children, Joseph, Doug Jr., Tracy, Kenneth and his wife, Jocelyn, Hilda and her husband, Tom, and Amanda and her husband, Jason; 9 grandchildren, Jake and his wife, Kali, Amber and her husband, Matt, Alex and his wife, Amber, Tyler, Erin, Michael, Kaleb, Belle, and Braylin; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and six sisters.

He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers and one sister.

A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made in Doug’s name to: Maine Health Cancer Care, So. Portland Practice, Maine Medical Center, Philanthropy Dept., 22 Bramhall St., Portland ME 04102 (patient needs). You may also choose to plant a Douglas Fir in Doug’s memory.
