Elizabeth Jane Shain Cerone, 70, passed away at Clover Health Care in Auburn on Nov. 1, 2020, following a long struggle with Alzheimer’s dementia.

She was born in Bridgton on Feb. 25, 1950, to Verdell and Beulah Holden. She grew up in Harrison, she attended Bridgton High School, then Oxford Hills. After graduation, she and her best friend Peggy (Laird) Lesenring enlisted into the Navy and were sent to Long Beach, Calif., She was a clerk in the (Brig) in 1984.

Beth married Richard Cerone in 1988 and they moved to Maine. Beth worked at Shawnee Peak, Bridgton Knitting Mill and Chalmer’s Insurance. She enjoyed crafts, shopping and travel. She loved helping with the VFW Post 9328 suppers and breakfasts. She was a member of the American Legion Post 67.

She is survived by son, Lynn E. Shain II; grandson, Mason Shain; step kids, Rick Cerone (deceased), Danielle Buckley, Paul Cerone of Calif., Jody Sutherland of Ky.; nieces, nephews and her husband of 36 years, Richard.

There will be a graveside service on May 8, 2021, at 11 a.m., at North Bridgton Cemetery on Kimball Road in Bridgton. Her celebration of life will follow at the Masonic Hall RR 117 at 166 Harrison Road in Bridgton.
