Q. Why did you choose these sports? I chose these sports because they’re fun, it brings positive energy into your day and gives you the chance to be in something other than yourself.

Q. What do you enjoy most about sports? I enjoy the team buildings, coaches’ passion, trust, competing, socializing and being able to get out of your comfort zone is key in anything you do in life. Playing sports sometimes gives you that energy to do so.

Q. How has competing in sports changed you as a person? Competing in sports has changed me in many ways. Competing comes with patience, knowledge and character. Competing has taught me to pay attention to details to my surroundings, and in order to achieve that goal is to be disciplined.

Q. During this period of Covid-19, what has been the most difficult adjustment and what have you been doing to occupy your time? Not having any connections with friends, not working. A lot more time with family, to occupy my time I played a lot of board games with family. I hike, cook, read, crafty things. I find keeping busy is the best way of staying positive about this whole virus.

Q. What is your favorite sports memory? As a freshman three years ago. I remembered I was playing basketball, the other team was beating us so bad it was so frustrating. Then, I remembered the coach saying to pressure the ball, as I did I stole the ball then didn’t know what to do with it. Then I started shooting from the three-point line and made it every time which kind of surprised me a little.

Q. What is your most disappointing sports memory? The most disappointing memories that I have are the drama and clicks high school is surrounded with.

Q. How has sports prepared you for your future? Sports taught me you’ll find people who hate you, speak behind your back, make you feel like nobody. Despite all that, you’ll have to learn to work with them no matter what because that’s the beauty of life.

Q. Name a coach who has made a difference in your life and in what way? Pauline Webb (field hockey coach) has said in quote attitude, effort, perseverance, discipline and being attentive is key in living the best life. She also said you’ll never know when you’re going to be put to a test by your boss, school teacher or whoever. It is very important to listen and put other people before yourself. That’s why we use our team name AS ONE. Paul True (basketball coach), Wayne Rivet (softball coach), Shawn Rock (softball coach), Mark Snow (track & field), Dana Caron (track & field) and more all have said to “Never take anything for Granted.”

Q. What are your future goals? Going to college for physical therapy, starting at community college then transfer to another when the time comes.
