Q1. Why did you choose these sports? My mom played field hockey so I tried it and loved it; my dad played lacrosse so I wanted to try it. I started ski racing because I loved skiing and wanted to be able to ski competitively.

Q2. What do you enjoy most about sports? I really like the friendly team atmosphere and the competition.

Q3. How has competing in sports changed you as a person? They’ve given me leadership skills. This past summer, I organized practices when our coach couldn’t be involved yet.

Q4. During this period of Covid-19, what has been the most difficult adjustment (and why) and what have you been doing to occupy your time? The most difficult part has been adjusting to not always be playing a sport. I’ve been a three-sport athlete since middle school so I’ve always been playing a sport year-round. For most of the Covid-19 period, I’ve occupied my time by strengthening my leg after I had ACL surgery and focusing on my recovery.

Q5. What is your favorite sports memory?Winning States my freshman year for lacrosse.

Q6. What is your most disappointing sports memory?Tearing my ACL at Ski States my junior year.

Q7. How has sports prepared you for your future? To be flexible and to focus on what you have rather than what you don’t. Playing sports during the pandemic made me grateful for each game we got instead of focusing on the fact that we weren’t having as many games.

Q8. Name a coach who has made a difference in your life and in what way?Coach Whitney gave me the confidence that I needed my freshman year that I carried through my high school career.

Q9. What are your future goals?I’m planning on majoring in Chemical Engineering and then go into the environmental or pharmaceutical industry.
