Propane company donates to Harrison Food Bank
The Harrison Food Bank like many other food banks and pantries across the nation is trying to accommodate the needs of a growing number of Americans facing food insecurity, and put a call out to members of the community to lend a hand.
Suburban Propane answered that call.
The company donated 200 gallons of off-road diesel for the food bank’s 53-foot refrigerated trailer used to keep food at proper temperature and maximize the amount of food for the community. Suburban’s local operation in Portland provided the delivery.
Suburban Propane made this donation as part of its Suburban Cares platform, to provide support to local communities in times of uncertainty. Suburban is making similar donations to communities in need across the nation. Two weeks ago, they donated 300 gallons of propane to the Essex Wexford School District in Vermont to warm a grab-and-go meals tent for volunteers working to create meals for school children.
