Player of the Week: Noah Duprey
According to longtime Lake Region varsity golf coach Art Kilborn, Noah Duprey’s work ethic is like no one else, and he continues to set a team first example.
In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Noah is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.” Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.

Q. Why did you choose to play golf? I started playing golf as a small kid with my grandfather and dad. I wanted to play competitive golf in high school.
Q. What is the most difficult part of the game? When you hit a bad shot to keep your emotions in check and move on to the next hole.
Q. What do you enjoy the most about golf? The competition against myself to get better, and the competition against other top players.
Q. What do you feel you need to work on and why? I need to work on the mental part of golf when I hit a bad shot.
Q. Why is teamwork important? Teamwork is important because the better I play, the better the team does in our overall standings. Also, to help teammates be successful in what we do.
Q. What is the biggest impact your coach(es) have had on you? He has supported me in the matches. Also, when my swing is not where I want it to be, he helps me fix it.
Q. How do you want people to view you as an athlete? I want people to view me as a person that works hard, is a respectful person and someone who wants to be successful at his goals. Also, help people who need help, and practice until I become who I want to be.
Q. Ten years from now, when you look back on your high school sports career, what do you think you will remember most? I want to remember all of the good memories that I made with teammates and friends. Also, that I put everything into it, and worked hard to be the best I could be.
