Margaret R. Mansfield, 80
NORWAY — Margaret R. “Maggie” Mansfield, 80, of Harrison, died early Tuesday evening, Sept. 17, 2019, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.
She was born on, Feb. 20, 1939, in Ipswich, England, a daughter of Bertie Victor Percy and Emma Howard.
Maggie attended schools in England and immigrated to the United States in 1975, settling in the Revere, Mass., area and became a U.S. citizen May 28 1980. She was proud to have completed homemaker/home health aide training given by the American Red Cross, and worked for six years at the Brookhouse Home as a home health aide in Salem. She also worked for American Airlines in the terminal at Logan International Airport.
In 1984, Maggie married John Mansfield at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Salem, where she was very active and John sang in the choir.
In 1995, together they moved to a large rundown farmhouse on Summit Hill Rd. in Harrison, that they lovingly restored.
Maggie attended the Bridgton Congregational Church, UCC in Bridgton and enjoyed the company of her church family.
She is survived by her husband, John of Harrison; a stepson, Matthew Mansfield and his wife, Jackie of Effingham, N.H.; stepgrandchildren, Molly, Meaghan, Mark, and Janelle Mansfield; a great-grandson, Luis Mansfield.
She was predeceased by a stepson, Mark Mansfield.
A celebration of Maggie’s life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 5, at the First Congregational Church, UCC, 33 South High St., Bridgton.
