Virginia Woodfin, 80
HARRISON — Virginia “Ginny” Woodfin, 80, of Harrison, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019, with her loving family by her side.
Ginny was born in Swampscott, Mass., grew up in Lynn, Mass., and moved to Marblehead when she was married to the love of her life, Paul. Ginny cared about people and was a friend to everyone she met.
She and her husband Paul loved to square dance and belonged to the Seaside Steppers of Wakefield, Mass. They also enjoyed camping and frequently came to the Long Lake area in the summer for vacation. They loved the area so much that, in 1973, they bought a lot in Harrison and built their forever home in 1974. After both of them retired, they sold their home in Marblehead, Mass., and moved to Harrison permanently. Ginny and Paul spent many happy hours driving around Maine, exploring as many nooks and crannies and back roads as they could find. They enjoyed going to breakfast and often went to Steve’s. Ginny enjoyed having company and sharing her love of the lake with their friends.
Ginny is predeceased by her parents, Gladys and Ed Day; and brothers Carl and Eddie.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Paul Woodfin of Harrison; her nephew, four grandnieces and many friends whom she considered family. Ginny will be missed by all who knew her.
No services are planned at this time.
