Player of the Week: Taylor Davis
As a goalie, Taylor Davis has been strong commanding and leading the Lake Region defense.
“He is a kid who was converted from midfield to goalie early in the season due to a team need there,†Lake Region varsity boys’ lacrosse Coach Josh Plowman said. “His goalie form and ability to make routine saves has improved tremendously.â€
In recognition of his strong work ethic, determination, commitment and good sportsmanship, Taylor is this week’s Boosters and Hancock Lumber “Player of the Week.†Each week, a Lake Region athlete is recognized for his/her dedication (does more than what is asked), work ethic, coachability and academic good standing. Recipients receive a specially-designed t-shirt, sponsored by Hancock Lumber.

Why did you choose to play lacrosse? I chose to play lacrosse because I like the fast pace of the game.
What is the most difficult part of the game? Playing goalie, giving up goals and getting down on myself.
What do you enjoy the most about the sport? Playing goalie, I get to make saves and surprise the people shooting.
What do you feel you need to work on and why? I need to work on my skills in net and being clean making the save.
Why is teamwork important? It’s important because it is like a big family and we need each other.
What is the biggest impact your coach(es) have had on you? The new coaching staff has helped us win a game, which we haven’t done in two years.
How do you want people to view you as an athlete? Hard working, successful, not just a class clown.
Ten years from now, when you look back on your high school sports career, what do you think you will remember most? The good times I had with my team. I will really miss them.
