Bertha Miller

BROWNFIELD — Bertha L. Miller, 78, of Brownfield, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, where she had been living for the past two years.

She was born on Mar. 18, 1937, in North Conway, N.H., a daughter of Chester A. and Molly B. (Douglas) Day.

Bertha attended Brownfield schools and, as a young woman, worked at the shoe shop in Fryeburg.

On May 7, 1955, she married Frank L. Miller in North Conway. They made their home in Brownfield and she worked as a loving homemaker to her family.

She enjoyed flower gardening, bird watching, keeping a clean house, and doing Word Search.

Bertha leaves behind three sons, Donald Miller and his wife, Robin of Brownfield, Richard and Kevin Miller, both of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren, Kerry, Derek, Kimberly, Tyler, Alaina, Allan, Keith, Kevin Jr., Randy and Carletta; and 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Frank on Nov. 27, 1966; a son Robert K. Miller on Nov. 20, 1997; and siblings, Albert, Walter, Roger, Gloria, Avis, Ruby and Arlene.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015, at the Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren St., Fryeburg. Interment will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Brownfield. Gifts may be given in Bertha's memory to Fryeburg Rescue, P.O. Box 177, Fryeburg, ME 04037.
