Friedrich W. von Kannewurff, 83
Friedrich Wilhelm von Kannewurff, 83, passed away on Friday, Aug. 14, 2015.
Fred was born on Sept. 30, 1931 in Baitkowen, East Prussia. The von Kannewurff family estate became a collective farm in Poland after World War II, and Fred’s studies turned to business. He learned to love international travel during his school years at the Schloss Schule Salem in Baden-Wurtenberg, Germany, Gordenstoun School in Elgin, Scotland and Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. His career in international sales at Texaco spanned four decades, and the globe.
Fred was a Knight in the Order of St. John and a committed member of Rotary International. He enjoyed jogging around the Imperial Palace in Tokyo and the Botanical Gardens in Singapore. He also loved the mountains and spent as much time as he could hiking and climbing. The White Mountains drew him to Bridgton.
His wife, Ingrid von Kannewurff; children, Christian, Stefanie, Michael and Patrick; grandchildren and sisters will miss him.
Please join us for a Memorial Service on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bridgton.
